Holistic analyses can typically be framed as course-of-events analyses. The goals themselves are important indeed, but how to reach these goals is even more crucial.

This style of analysis allows the determination of trends over a certain period of time. In doing so the entry and exit points are already pre-defined at the beginning of a trend.
